Barrett-Jackson 2022
Barrett Jackson 2022 was a very successful affair. This year more than 40 customers attended the event along with over 30 Air Force Men serving our country out of Luke Air Force Base. The weather was perfect, the cars were shiny, and a great time was had by all. This event continues to grow and has become a huge customer event for DP Air.

Inside DP Air
Blogs
New blogs are being posted every month. January’s segment highlighted the importance of maintaining critical power equipment. Our Los Angeles Branch shares the ups and downs of helping a customer who hadn’t replaced cooling fans and batteries in years! February’s blog post shared information and tips on how to “Do a Grouch a Favor Day” and what a BIG difference a positive attitude or a simple act of kindness can make. The March blog was published by our CEO, Arnie Evdokimo. He shared his experience in helping our customer locate and fix their breaker issues on one of their UPS systems. New ADP Platform
We are working with ADP, our current payroll provider, to move to a new platform called Workforce Now. What does this mean for you? When the time comes for us to begin using the new platform, we will provide a new link for you to use when clocking in and out of your timesheet and submitting paid time off requests. You will still have access to all the information that you currently have in ADP, it will just have a new look and feel. One of the most exciting features of this new platform is it will allow our employees to enroll in Health Benefits during Open Enrollment electronically, rather than filling out and turning in paper forms as we have done in the past. We are looking forward to the new platform and will send out updates as we get them from ADP. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Erin Rehling directly.
Social Media
After taking a break for a couple of years, DP Air has decided to start-up our social media platforms again. If you aren’t already following us on Facebook or Instagram, find us and subscribe. There we will be sharing the projects that our different branches are working on, featuring employees, telling stories, adding holiday pictures, and more!
Employee Spotlights are Back!
Every month DP Air will be randomly drawing a name from our employee list. Then Letice (from Corporate) will contact the lucky winner and ask them for a current photo and some fun “get-to-know-you” questions. We will spotlight our employee on our social media platforms as well as in our quarterly newsletter. This will be a fun way for our customers to get to know us better and for our branches to learn about each other.

Branch Out – Phoenix

Dignity Health – Paralleling Project:
The Phoenix Branch’s Electrical Department is currently working on installing new generator paralleling gear for a major local healthcare facility. This datacenter facility is responsible for a majority of the hospitals, urgent cares and associated healthcare office buildings across the United States. DP Air is combining multiple existing backup generators that are currently backing up two separate utility sources. We are installing a new paralleling gear that will combine all of the existing backup generators into one board so that, at any time, we can use any of the generators as needed. During this installation there has been no down time to the customer as we install this new equipment around their existing operation. We are re-listing multiple panel boards and switchboards throughout the project with UL (Underwriter Laboratories) and reconfigured these boards from a 3 phase 4 wire board to a 3 phase 3 wire board. There has been a lot of planning and coordinating between the Electrical Department and Brian Aden (Corporate Branch) to ensure this project progresses smoothly and without any issues. We have installed new Bus Duct between the new GSB Paralleling board, existing generators, load bank cabinet as well as future building loads. We are in the process of reconfiguring and remodifying each existing generator board to adapt to the new Bus Duct application that, in the end, will tie all of the generators together. Between the planning and coordinating on this project, as well as the installation portion, this is without a doubt one of the most critical and complex projects DP Air has ever taken on and we are hitting this one out of the park! With no fear of losing power to their most critical infrastructure, this project has given our customer the ability to have redundancy power from multiple generator sources and the reliability
Keeping up with the Branches

Corporate
Our corporate office has many new faces these days. A way that we have been “getting to know each other” is by having monthly corporate luncheons. During these lunches, we talk about our families, friends, pets, hobbies and more. This is a great way to increase moral and get to know each other on a more personal level. We rotate turns so that everyone gets a chance to choose where we eat, yet somehow we typically end up at Mexican Restaurants!!! I guess our taste in food is something we all have in common!
Soooooo… funny story, I wrote this in March and in April we actually went to a Thai restaurant and that is where this picture was taken. Ironic right?!
Las Vegas Branch
The Las Vegas Branch has been very busy with quite a few project jobs.
We just completed a Stage 7 overhead rack mounting power feeds job at UNLV. We have been working with GCON to complete the Databank project.
T-Mobile cell sites keep us busy repairing and/or replacing units. We have had a lot of renewal maintenance contracts. We are planning our “welcome to summer” breakfast for the Las Vegas Staff on April 8th.
San Francisco Branch
The San Francisco branch has had a busy past few months. All techs have been working extremely hard and long hours to keep up with the demand. We have service work lined up all the way until the end of May. Thank you to all the techs for paying attention and performing the preventive maintenance correctly. We have been able to help our customers keep their units running and without any down time.
Los Angeles Branch
The LA branch has been helping one of our biggest customer troubleshoot several water cool units tripping off due to high head pressure on a high rise building. After multiple discussions telling the customer the issue is their water and not with the several heat exchangers, the customer had requested for us to replace the water pipes. We were finally able to cut one of the water pipes inside the unit and found the 1-3/8” return line piping had been reduce to about ½” due to the calcium build up. Our customer is now planning on replacing the water pipes in the near future.
Tucson Branch
Greetings from Tucson!
Our new Office Manager, Mandy Scholer, is settling in and doing a great job!
We are lined up with work until the end of the summer! We just completed replacing all the York rooftop A/C units on a Ross Store at the Spectrum Mall here in Tucson. We are in the starting phase of replacing the critical cooling units for the State Department at the Tucson Western Passport Center. We will need to keep cooling the Passport Datacenter while we remove one 10 ton Liebert Deluxe System 3 and replace with two 29 kW Liebert PDX systems which we will network together.
We also are working with Canyon Ranch Spa on a number of different projects involving replacing aging cooling and heating systems throughout the complex.
Our shop is bursting at the seams with equipment.
As usual, we have been busy responding to issues from the U.S. Border Patrol and their many sites in Southern Arizona.

Branch of the Quarter / Year (Hollywood Star)
We would like to congratulate our SAN FRANCISCO BRANCH for winning Branch of the Quarter for Q4 AND Branch of the Year!!! Keep up the great work everyone! A note from Regional Manager, Javier, “It was a great 2021, we have become more of a Family than co-workers. The success that the San Francisco Branch is experiencing is due to every employee supporting each other, looking out for the company and helping each other out. Like the Golden State Warriors would say “strength in numbers”!

Just for Fun

Recipe
Ham with Pineapple-Honey Glaze
Perfect for Easter Dinner!

Ingredients:
- 1 spiral cut ham, bone-in (8-12 pounds)
- 1 large oven cooking bag, with tie
- 1 (20 ounce) can sliced pineapple, juice reserved
- 1 cup sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ½ teaspoon ground cloves
- ½ teaspoon ground allspice
- ½ teaspoon fresh ground nutmeg
- ½ teaspoon paprika
- ¼ teaspoon ground ginger
- 1/3 cup pineapple juice
- ¼ cup honey
Instructions:
- Place ham, left in plastic covering from company (and netting to make handling easier), into large container. Cover with hot tap water. Let sit for 45 minutes. Empty water and refill with hot tap water for another 45 minutes. This allows the internal temperature of ham to raise before placing in oven.
- Preheat oven to 250 degrees. Adjust oven rack to lowest position.
- Remove ham from water and all packaging from company. Be sure to remove plastic disk covering bone. Place ham inside large oven bag making sure that the cut side is at bottom of bag. Gather bag tightly around ham and tie. Place in large roasting pan. Cut 4 small slits in top of bag with knife.
- Bake ham until internal temperature reaches 100 degrees (approximately 90 minutes or 10 minutes per pound).
- During last minutes of ham cooking time, combine sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, cloves, allspice, nutmeg, paprika, and ginger in small saucepan. Once combined add pineapple juice and honey and cook over medium heat stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Consistency should just allow you to pour. If not, add more pineapple juice.
- Remove ham from oven. Untie oven bag and roll down sides. Any juices inside bag you will want to keep within bag. Increase heat in oven to 350 degrees.
- Starting at the bottom cut portion of the ham, hang pineapple slices on ham with toothpicks.
- Slowly poor 1/4 of glaze over ham. Return to oven for 10 minutes. Repeat twice. You will still have glaze left over for those who may like more glaze with their ham.
- After final oven glazing, remove ham from oven. Remove pineapple slices (if you wish) to a separate bowl for serving. There will be liquid in the bottom of the bag. My family likes this added to the leftover glaze to pour on individual ham slices and served with individual pineapple slices.
- Place ham on platter and serve. Pour glaze and ham juices into gravy boat for service.

Christmas Quilt 2019
Over the Holidays, DP Air raised money for the Feed My Starving Children organization. Stacy Higley’s wife, Gaye, used her time and talents to make a beautiful strawberry quilt. The quilt was to be given away to the winner of our company raffle. Each ticket was $5.00 and we were able to raise $720.00 for the FMSC foundation. Before Christmas we drew a winner, the winner was Stephanie Berry from the L.A. Branch. Stephanie is so generous and giving that she gave the quilt away to someone who expressed how much they loved it. We have a great group of people here at DP Air.

Barrett Jackson 2019
At Barrett Jackson 2019, there were thousands of the world’s most sought-after valuable automobiles crossing the auction block in front of a global audience and DP Air Corporation and over 40 clients were there to watch it live. DP Air dedicated a day to the Armed Forces and hosted over 40 airmen at the event. All who attended were able to take advantage of the Behind the Hobby symposiums, mingle with celebrities and experience adrenaline-pumping thrill rides.

DP Air Holiday Party 2018
The holidays are always a time to celebrate for us here at DP Air Corporation, and we love decorating the office to get the spirit going! Our branches like to participate in their own ways, each one having their own holiday Christmas party!
This year, DP Air Corporation’s Corporate office held their party at the Art of Merlot in Scottsdale, Arizona! It was a painting class, and the group had an absolute blast! Corporate has also decided to partake in a Secret Santa gift exchange, and even has a cheat sheet posted to help everyone out with gift ideas!

Salvation Army Christmas Angel Donations
DP Air Corporation adopted 15 children this holiday season to provide gifts for families in need through the Phoenix branch of the Salvation Army.
Each child received three gifts, and the gifts were all dropped off to the Salvation Army warehouse before Christmas to be distributed in time for the holidays.
It was wonderful to see how many large corporations were participating this year in giving back to their communities! Each of the corporate employees “earned their angel wings” with the Salvation Army by providing for their community.

2018 Reno Air Races
The 2018 Reno Air Race event was DP Air’s biggest ever! Over twenty-five different Corporate customers attended and enjoyed beautiful weather, fast airplanes and the best hospitality DP Air has to offer. The air races provide our customers a unique opportunity to network, share ideas, discuss trends and kick back and forget about their work worries for a day or two. Debates over the best components for MDF/IDF rooms, fiber installations, and applications best suited for a myriad of topics and where technology would be and how it would impact data center operations in the future could be overheard throughout the five day event. In the end, it was a success for both DP Air and our valued clients and we look forward to 2019’s races!

Rett Syndrome Fundraiser 2018
Change for Rett jars and Greens for Jeans were in full swing for the DP Air 2018 fundraiser! The LA Branch raised over $500 through Greens for Jeans! One father rode his bicycle across the United States during the month of October to raise money and awareness for Rett Syndrome, dubbed “Rett Riders Across America”. Dan Davis, an owner of DP Air, pledged to match up to $25,000 raised for this cause! Fundraising is only done through private donations, the Rett Syndrome Foundation doesn’t receive government assistance for research.
Our team took a trip down to the Tucson office to meet the father riding for Rett, and work with other locals raising funds for Rett Syndrome.
