Family Fun Month

A happy family in a field holding up pieces for a house

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Each year, Family Fun Month is celebrated throughout the month of August but because of the current situation with COVID-19, it seems as though we’ve had to get creative with our families for the past few months.  Our DP Air team is no exception, here’s how a few of our team members have taken the opportunity to enjoy their family with extra fun activities.

Jennifer Harler (Corporate):  “My family is scattered across the country so after the shelter at home orders in our various states, we started a weekly Skype call.  It’s been a challenge with all the time zones, but we have kept it up for four months now!  It is something fun to look forward to each week and has really helped keep my sanity!”[/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_single_image image=”13839″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Samuel Marrero (Phoenix Branch):  “We have taken to cooking.  My wife follows a gluten free diet so we decided to make gluten free pasta from scratch.  We purchased Better Batter and created some tasty dishes.”  Shown in the picture is Sam’s 6-year-old daughter, Jaeleen.[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2/3″][vc_single_image image=”13847″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″][vc_single_image image=”13848″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_single_image image=”13849″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_column_text]Stephanie Berry (Los Angeles Branch):  “My youngest son Jeremy (16 years old at the time) purchased his first vehicle on March 14, 2020. He purchased a fixer upper, 1965 Ford Pickup.  Jeremy, his brother, and my husband went through the entire truck. The truck had air bags and they removed those, along with replacing the springs. They replaced both front fenders, removed the white wall tires, replaced the rims, welded metal to the bed where it was rotted, and so much more! The boys have learned so much while they have been working on this truck, but more importantly, they have bonded together over this project. The purchase of this truck definitely kept my boys busy, distracted, and happy. As you can see in the first picture, I love watching them work on it together, hearing them laugh, and watching their bond grow deeper. It makes my heart happy!”

The first picture is the way the truck looked when Jeremy brought it home.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”13850″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]The second picture is the progress that has been made as of June 23, 2020.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image image=”13844″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][vc_column_text]Spending time with family is important. It is nice to have a month that reminds us to take the time and create some family fun. Whether you live across the country from your family or have everyone at home, there are always ways to connect with the ones you love.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
