There are many ways to beat the heat and keep cool, and one of the best (and probably most popular) is to enjoy some delicious ice cream with friends and family! We asked around at the company to see what everyone’s favorite flavors and top ice cream shops were to get their favorite sweet treats in the summertime, and we had a wide variety of responses![/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]It was a draw across the board in terms of favorite flavors, I even saw some I had never heard of, such as salted malted chocolate chip cookie dough! There was a clear favorite in terms of ice cream shops, with Cold Stone having the most responses, followed by Baskin Robbins. A few employees were ones of my own style, choosing family-owned homemade ice cream shops, such as Handel’s in Los Angeles, or Mighty Moo ice cream in Arizona. For our dairy-free friends, you can always enjoy shaved ice or a delicious Popsicle! If you have young children, take a banana, cut in half, insert a Popsicle stick, wrap in cling wrap, then freeze for a healthier snack for the little ones![/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner][vc_column_text]Being safe in the heat, especially during the summer in places like Arizona and Nevada, is incredibly important. Sunscreen of at least 30 SPF should be applied when exposure to sun is going to be longer than a few minutes at a time, and re-applied every few hours for maximum effect. Heat stroke and heat exhaustion are very common in the summertime, and definitely should be taken seriously! If you’re an avid hiker, be sure to bring plenty of water with you, and try to be back down from your hike by the time the sun hits its highest point in the day.

On the topic of water, be sure to drink your recommended amounts, especially in the summertime. I like to always keep either my hydro flask or a bottle of water with me at all times, and try to remind myself to take sips every few minutes.

Please take precaution during these hot summers – and stay safe with proper hydration and sun protection![/vc_column_text][/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]
